The Lusitano horse is the direct descendant of the Iberian horse, ancestor of horses that gave rise to the Equitation Science or the Art of Horse Riding around the world, from Europe to North Africa, Asia Minor, India and China. Centuries of evolution did Lusitano extremely versatile and suitable for all disciplines of equitation, like classical dressage. With the habitat region in the vast plains of the hot south of the Iberian Peninsula, the Lusitano has given rise to other races, such as Campolina.
Often described as noble, the Lusitano is sometimes fiery, others docile, but always struggling and even suffering.
It doesn’t lack him courage and agility, and it’s truly a very good performer in all types of equestrian sport!
Lovely Lisbon! Lovely post! “Obrigada” Georgette 🙂
Truth be told, I have been obsessed with Lisbon ever since we got back from our #winteroadtrip from the south of France to Portugal this past December. Five days of living it up with my partner in crime and I really think we got the most of our vacation, it was non-stop walking, eating, drinking and experiencing. This city is full of all sorts of interesting corners and neighborhoods, a place where your first impression is drastically different from your last. The contrasts here are so abundant, but that’s what I love about it.
With romance in mind, here are my thoughts on how to spend a romantic day in one of my newest favorite cities in Europe, Lisbon – Portugal.

Portuguese porcelain and crystal brand Vista Alegre teamed up with Maison Christian Lacroix to create this collection of 12 porcelain vases – made in Portugal – directed by Sacha Walckhoff.
“Founded in 1824, the Vista Alegre Porcelain Factory was the first industrial unit dedicated to producing porcelain in Portugal. The persistence of its founder, José Ferreira Pinto Basto, was determining to the launching and success of this daring enterprise. A landowner, audacious merchant and distinguished figure in Portuguese society at the time, José Ferreira Pinto Basto wisely adopted the liberal ideas of the 19th century, having become “the first example of free initiative” in Portugal.”
Vista Alegre sets on the tables of some of the world’s most relevant figures, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain and Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, as well as at the White House, the Presidential House of Brazil, the Presidential House of the Portuguese Republic and countless embassies and institutions, both public and private, all over the world.
Vista Alegre Atlantis is recognised as a high-quality porcelain manufacturer by countless specialists and was awarded the Excellence Status by prestigious organisation Superbrands in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Elections to the European Parliament will be held at the end of coming May – that is to say, in only four months’ time. Their outcome will have deep, long-lasting implications – not only for democracy, but also for the practical life of Europe’s citizens. Decisions on how the institutions on which the Euro and the Union are built should continue to be reformed over the next few years will be significantly, if not decisively, influenced by the outcome of these polls – not only due to the power of the Parliament itself, but also due to the powerful signals it can send to the Council regarding how electors stand on furthering European integration in the near future.
This is especially true in the case of the Eurozone countries and, particularly, for those countries most affected by the many recent crises, subject to financial assistance programmes, such as Portugal, which…
